creative & strategic services

Since 2014, I've partnered with brands across Japan, the US, and international markets to solve the problems that sit between a great idea and the audience it deserves. As a designer & strategist who has served enterprise to SMBs, I don't just build things. I help teams figure out what to build, why it will work and how to make sure it lands, whether the audience is in Tokyo, Dubai, Milwaukee or anywhere in between.

01 | CMS design & build

The right platform for your goals — built to perform, and easy for your team to own.

Most businesses don't need a fully custom-coded site. They need a website that looks sharp, converts visitors, and doesn't require a developer every time something needs updating. That's where CMS-based builds shine — and where I spend most of my time.

I design and build on Squarespace, Wix, and WordPress, with deep experience managing enterprise content platforms like AEM and Sitecore in larger environments. When your project needs a developer for custom functionality, complex integrations, or a fully bespoke build, I can bring one in from my trusted network and manage the entire process so nothing falls through the cracks.

This includes:

  • Website design & build on Squarespace, Wix & WordPress

  • CMS strategy & platform selection

  • Landing pages for campaigns, launches & market entry

  • Multilingual cross-cultural web experiences

  • Developer coordination & project oversight for complex builds

  • Enterprise CMS collaboration (AEM, Sitecore, Prismic)

02 | design for development teams

Already have a dev team? I plug in on the design side and hand off work they can actually build from.

If you have developers in-house or an agency you already trust — great. I don't replace them. I step in as the senior design layer: UX/UI, creative direction, and Figma-ready assets with the documentation your team needs to move fast without losing the vision.

With five years of project management experience, I understand how design decisions affect build timelines. I speak developer — which means clean handoffs, fewer revision cycles, and no translation tax between the creative and the technical.

This includes:

  • UX/UI design & wireframing

  • Figma design & build-ready handoff assets

  • Design systems & component documentation

  • Creative direction alongside your dev team

  • Stakeholder-ready presentations & spec sheets

  • Coordination across dev, QA & launch

03 | content & campaign design

A great product with a weak story is a missed opportunity.

Content isn't just posts and captions. It's how your brand shows up every day — across social, campaigns, launches, and every touchpoint your audience interacts with. When it's working, it builds momentum. When it's not, even great work gets ignored.

I help brands shape content that has a clear purpose behind it while connecting it to business goals built for the platforms your audience is actually on. Through this lens, it’s designed to move people from awareness to action.

A lot of brands are generating content faster than ever. The part that still requires a human making sure it's strategically coherent, culturally on-point, and built to last. As the general direction for all industries, this is also what this service is for.

This includes:

  • Social media content design & rollout

  • Campaign creative across channels

  • Launch assets & pitch-ready materials

  • Content strategy & messaging frameworks

  • Cross-cultural content adaptation

04 | brand Identity & design

People don't buy products. They buy into brands.

A brand isn't a logo. It's the complete picture of how your business is perceived — across every touchpoint, every platform, every market. When that picture is clear and consistent, it builds trust faster than any ad campaign. When it's fragmented, even your best work gets undercut.

I build brand identities and design systems that are distinct, flexible, and built for the long run — giving your team the tools to show up consistently whether you're pitching a client, launching a campaign, or setting up an expo booth.

This includes:

  • Brand identity & logo design

  • Visual systems & brand guidelines

  • Marketing collateral & print design

  • Expo & event design (booths, signage, displays)

  • Graphic design across formats & platforms

05 | embedded design & strategy

Sometimes you don't need a project.
You need a partner.

There are moments in a business when the pace picks up, the stakes rise, and the team needs more creative firepower than they have in-house. That's where embedded support comes in — not a new hire, not a one-off freelancer, but a senior creative partner who steps in, gets oriented fast, and helps keep everything moving in the right direction.

I've worked inside agency environments, alongside global teams, and across time zones — coordinating design, content, developers, photographers, and specialists when the project demands it. If you need someone who can lead as much as execute, this is the engagement for you.

This includes:

  • Ongoing retainer design support

  • Creative direction & stakeholder alignment

  • Cross-team coordination (dev, PR, photography, marketing)

  • Strategy consulting for digital presence & market expansion

  • Japan market entry support for international brands

a note on platforms & tools

I work within whatever system fits your team and your budget — the platform is never the point. The goal is always something that represents you clearly, performs reliably, and that your team can actually manage. If you're unsure what's right for your situation, that's exactly what the discovery conversation is for.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most projects start with a discovery call to understand your goals, constraints, and timeline. From there, I'll send a proposal outlining scope, deliverables, and cost.

Once we're aligned, we work in focused phases, from research, to concept, refinement, and delivery — with regular check-ins so there are no surprises.

I work remotely, but I'm flexible depending on what the project needs.

  • My focus is web and product design, but I'm happy to take on branding, marketing assets, and other creative work depending on the scope.

If something falls outside my wheelhouse, I'll tell you upfront and can point you toward someone who's a better fit.

  • Both. I'm based in Tokyo and work with Japanese companies and international organizations.

My working language is English, but I can accommodate Japanese-language projects and communication depending on the engagement.

I’ve worked in both agencies in Japan as well as U.S., and am used to the nuances in both environments — especially cultural working styles.

  • Projects generally range from ¥500,000 to ¥3,000,000+, depending on scope and complexity.

Smaller engagements like landing pages or audits sit on the lower end; full product or brand projects are higher.

I'll always provide a clear, itemized proposal before anything starts — no surprises.

  • A freelancer often executes tasks. An independent designer usually owns outcomes: goals, structure, decision-making, and delivery.

  • Absolutely. I often coordinate with devs for handoff, QA, and launch support so design doesn't get "lost in translation."

With former experience as a Project Manager for five years, I understand end-to-end project flow, and bring that into every creative project that comes across my desk.

I'm comfortable creating detailed specs, component documentation, and handoff-ready assets so your dev team can hit the ground running. I'm also happy to join standups or Slack channels if that helps things move faster.

  • It depends on scope, but most projects run between 4 and 12 weeks.

A focused landing page or brand content refresh might wrap in a month; a full product design engagement typically takes 8–12 weeks or more.

Timeline depends on scope, feedback cycles, and your team's availability. I'll give you a realistic schedule upfront.

  • I don't disappear at delivery. I'll walk you through the final work, hand over all files and documentation, and answer any questions your team has.

If something small needs fixing after handoff, just reach out. For larger updates or new directions, we can scope that as a new project.
