Social Media Rollout for Hypnotist Chrisjones’ Presents “yes, and… Hypnosis”
Chris Jones is an internationally recognized stage hypnotist from America’s Got Talent whose performances blend comedy, psychology, and audience participation.
We worked on a social media content rollout to, expanding his digital presence to support bookings / increase attendance at the iO Theatre in Chicago, build brand clarity, and develop audience trust.
The Challenge
Despite Chris Jones' national recognition as the only hypnotist to appear on America's Got Talent and features on platforms like The Steve Harvey Show and Penn & Teller: Fool Us, his Chicago residency at iO Theatre faced a digital visibility challenge common to recurring live shows:
Converting touring performer credibility into consistent local ticket sales
Competing for attention within iO Theatre's dense monthly programming (20+ shows)
Translating a hybrid format: hypnosis meets Chicago improv comedy in a way that resonated with skeptics and believers alike
Creating scroll-stopping social content that matched the unpredictable energy of live crowd work.
The show needed a visual system that could link all of Chris’ highlights — between Chris's television credentials, his comedy-first approach, amazing guests and the interactive spectacle that makes each performance unrepeatable.
The Solution
CarmelloVision developed a personality-driven campaign architecture that showcased the performer, not just the performance.
Rather than relying on generic hypnosis imagery, we mined Chris Jones' extensive media archive: America's Got Talent clips, Laugh Factory crowd reactions, Facebook Watch's "Double Take" celebrity moments, crowd work featuring hypnosis , and built a rotating content library that proved the show's entertainment value through real reactions — and also one of which could remain evergreen.
The Design System:
Hypnotic Visual Language: Spiral motifs and kinetic typography that evoked trance states without cliché
Credibility Anchors: AGT branding, TV logos, and celebrity collaborations positioned prominently
Format Versatility: Templates optimized for iO's website blog grid, Instagram Reels vertical format, print flyers, and email headers

Each asset balanced two critical messages:
"This is legit" (credentials) and "This is fun" (comedy), ensuring the campaign appealed to both hypnosis converts and first-time attendees — all while tying in the overall brand.
Additionally, it was a great chance to introduce Chris’ comedy and magician friends into a campaign that highlighted their connection as well.
The Results
The campaign delivered a cohesive, instantly recognizable visual identity that drove measurable audience engagement and ticket conversions throughout the show's run at iO Theatre on Chris’ personal channels as well as his business account @1wordchrisjones.
The design system successfully reinforced the show's unique fusion of hypnosis and Chicago improv comedy, standing out within iO's competitive programming calendar while maintaining the venue's established aesthetic standards.
It also served as a great chance to highlight the collaborations Chris picked up along the way, bringing on guests such as Natasha Pearl Hansen, Sonny Bhatt, Abby Segal and Keelan Wendorf. Highlighting all of the acts only added to the dynamicism that their performances offered together.
