March On Milwaukee: 50 Years of Legacy Promotional Video

Past meets present in a short ad designed to inspire action, reflection, and remembrance — and a download of a PDF.

The Challenge

Milwaukee historian Adam Carr approached me to help promote the release of a free digital publication created in partnership with the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. The eBook commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Marches in Milwaukee, and needed a compelling way to engage modern audiences — especially online.

The Solution

To bring the story to life, I spearheaded the creation of a 60-second promotional video, collaborating with a team of local Milwaukee creatives. I researched and curated archival imagery from 1960s Milwaukee — including photos found in the book itself — and wove them into a visual narrative that connected past and present. The video ends with a clear, purpose-driven call to action, encouraging viewers to download the eBook and continue the conversation.

50 years after the marches, we used archival imagery and storytelling to reignite the conversation through the talents of local artists to showcase the history of Milwaukee — past and present.
