Hero Banner for Streaming Platform Movie Release

Bringing a character to life on social through visuals steeped in wartime secrecy and historical lore.

The Challenge

An agency needed a series of social media assets to support the marketing rollout for an upcoming Netflix movie premiere. Given it was a period piece in Japan, I was tasked with bringing my local knowledge in creating a visually compelling piece that would expand the backstory of the film’s mysterious main character, giving audiences deeper insight into their world and building intrigue ahead of release.

The Solution

After multiple viewings of the pre-release cut, I conducted visual research into WWII-era aesthetics and military terminology to ground the design in historical realism. I sourced period-inspired props from local antique shops and conducted a stylized photoshoot in my home studio. The final composition, edited in Photoshop, brought a rich layer of narrative depth to the campaign — extending the character’s lore and delivering a piece that felt authentic to the film’s world while creating questions / expanding on the plot in social.

From antique props to post-production polish, the result was a scroll-stopping social asset that captured the tone, tension, and mystery of the film.”
