Social Media Rollout for Hypnotist Chrisjones’ Presents “yes, and… Hypnosis”

Built to attract new audiences while reinforcing Chrisjones’ long-running presence at iO, the rollout balanced comedy, magic, and theatrical spectacle within a clear, ticket-driven campaign.

 
 
 

The Overview

CarmelloVision partnered with Hypnotist Chrisjones to design the promotional rollout for Yes, And… Hypnosis, a live comedy and hypnosis experience staged at Chicago’s iconic iO Theatre. The campaign translated the show’s hypnotic, playful energy into a cohesive design system used across web, print, and social platforms.

 
 

The Challenge

The promotion needed to stand out within iO Theatre’s packed event calendar while clearly communicating the hybrid nature of the show: part hypnosis, part improv, part magician comedy show.

Key challenges included:

  • Creating a visually striking identity that felt hypnotic without leaning into cliché

  • Designing assets that worked across venue platforms, social media, and ticketing systems

  • Maintaining clarity around performers, dates, and ticket CTAs within dynamic compositions

The Solution

The entertainers talents were the true driving force of this campaign. While we kept an overall theme, we created assets highlighting scenes from their sizzle reels, such as features on America's Got Talent and Laugh Factory, as well as crowd work.

We then developed a design system built around spiral motifs, bold color contrast, and character-forward compositions. The design language leaned into illusion and motion, reinforcing the show’s hypnotic theme while remaining playful to highlight the comedy focus.

Assets were adapted across formats including featured show graphics for the iO Theatre website, social reels, thumbnails, and print-ready flyers, ensuring consistency wherever audiences encountered the event.

The Outcome
